Highlander Union Student Art Displays
Calling all Highlanders! Apply to have your art displayed around our student union. The Highlander Union at UC Riverside offers a home to inspiring student art pieces that represent themselves and the community wealth they contribute to campus.
The call for student art submissions occurs in the Spring quarter and the art is displayed the following academic year. Student artists are expected to submit an image or PDF copy of their concept art or sketch/design and if selected, complete their art piece throughout the summer months on provided canvas. Please note that some applications may have a theme or prompt to inspire the student art pieces.
Current student art displays are featured in the Commuter and Transfer Lounge in HUB 191 and the second-floor Lounge in HUB 272. Please respect all art pieces and do not damage or relocate any displays without prior approval.
Concept Art Guidelines
Submissions are limited to a 2-D medium that can inserted into a 24"x36" or 18"x24" display frame. This includes photography, paintings, drawings, sketches, graphic design, or mixed media.
All concept art submissions must be in portrait mode. Landscape art pieces are currently not accepted.
Include a sketch, rendering, or outline of your intended art piece.
Please note concept art will not be displayed unless a photograph is submitted.
Copyright images or content will not be approved.
Art Display Guidelines
All art submissions must be in portrait mode. A canvas will be provided (as needed) if art submission is approved. Current UC Riverside Students submissions only. The art should align with UC Riverside's Principles of Community and provide representation to promote campus pride for all students. No bodily or animal fluids allowed on art pieces.
